Hair-Stroke Texture and Soft Shading, Combined in One Brow

Combo Brow · Microblading + Microshading Combo · Semi-Permanent Eyebrows — Seoul, Korea

Combo Brow combines two semi-permanent techniques in a single session — fine hair strokes near the brow head for natural texture, and soft shading toward the tail for lasting depth.

The Technique

What Is
Combo Brow?

Combo Brow combines two semi-permanent techniques in a single session — fine hair strokes near the brow head for natural texture, and soft shading toward the tail for lasting depth.

Combo Brow works as two techniques mapped onto one brow: hair-stroke work from the brow's head through the midpoint builds natural-looking texture, then soft shading takes over from the midpoint to the tail, adding density where a brow naturally thins. It's the technique most guests reach for once hair strokes alone start to feel like they're not quite enough, but a fully shaded, single-tone brow feels too heavy or flat.

Why Chaeuda

Why Chaeuda
for Combo Brow?

Combo Brow is the one service where both sides of Chaeuda's decade of specialization show up in the same brow — the hair-stroke work the studio was originally built around, and the shading judgment developed from years of matching guests to the right finish. Where a single technique defaults to one look across the whole brow, Combo Brow lets that same shape shift from natural texture at the head to fuller depth at the tail.

The Work

Recent Combo Brow Sessions.

Every photo here is captured straight from the chair, brows still fresh from the final pass — no retouching, no filters, nothing added after the fact. Kang You-jung maps the exact boundary by hand, hair strokes fading into shading at precisely the right point, with no stencils and nothing pre-drawn, checking the shape against the face from every angle before it's ever called finished. What holds up in this kind of unedited light is the real result — not a version of it.

She did a wonderful job on my eyebrows, which I really needed. I had very little of them, and she did a great job.

The shape is sketched with you, mapping the exact point where the hair strokes end and the shading begins.

How It Works

03

Traveling to Seoul

Planning Your Visit
From Abroad

A meaningful share of our guests plan their Nano Brow (Hair Stroke) session around a trip to Seoul. Here's what's helpful to know before you book.

Sessions

Guests traveling from abroad often complete their treatment in a single visit — strokes are placed with extra density and precision from the start, since returning for a touch-up isn't always practical. A touch-up remains available for guests based in Seoul.

Language Support

Consultations and aftercare guidance are available in multiple languages, including English, Japanese, and Chinese — just let us know what works best for you.

Before You Book

Questions, answered.

  • Combo Brow combines two semi-permanent techniques in one session: hand-drawn hair strokes from the brow's head through the midpoint for natural texture, and soft shading from the midpoint to the tail for added depth.

  • Microblading uses only strokes, and Microshading uses only shading. Combo Brow layers both onto a single brow — strokes for natural texture near the head, shading for deeper coverage toward the tail — and is often chosen by guests who find hair strokes alone not quite enough.

  • Results are semi-permanent and fade gradually as the pigment sits in the upper layers of skin. Local guests typically return for a touch-up once fading begins; guests visiting from abroad often have both the strokes and shading built more thoroughly at the first session, since a return visit isn't always practical.

  • A topical numbing cream is applied before your session, so most guests describe the sensation as light pressure or scratching rather than pain.

  • Guests who find hair strokes alone too subtle, very sparse natural brow hair needing both texture and coverage, or anyone undecided between a hair-stroke and a powder finish.

  • Most guests need just one thorough session. A touch-up can be scheduled afterward for guests based in Seoul, once healing is complete, to refine both the stroke and shaded portions.

  • As with any procedure involving the skin, it's generally not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for guests with certain skin conditions or blood-clotting concerns. A consultation will confirm what's right for you.

  • Every consultation includes a quick skin check. Guests with active acne, eczema, or irritation in the brow area are usually asked to wait until the skin has calmed before booking; outside of an active flare-up, sensitive skin is generally fine for the technique.

  • It depends on the color, saturation, and shape of the existing work. Faded or lightly-pigmented brows can often be softened and reshaped with Combo Brow, while heavily saturated or dark ink may need to be lightened first. This is assessed during a consultation — a photo in advance helps.

  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and blood-thinning medication for 24 hours beforehand, skip retinol or exfoliating treatments on the brow area for about a week prior, and arrive with your brows unshaped so your natural growth pattern is visible.

  • Yes — many guests plan their session around a short trip to Seoul, and the treatment itself is completed in a single visit. Since appointments are by consultation only and slots are limited, it's best to reach out a few weeks ahead, especially during peak travel seasons.

  • Combo Brow blends fine hair strokes with soft shading in a single session — strokes near the head, shading toward the tail. Microblading and Nano Brow (Hair Stroke) use strokes only, with Nano Brow's finer needle giving an even softer result. Microshading skips strokes entirely for a soft, powdered gradient that holds up well on oily skin. A consultation can help match the right technique, or combination, to your brow goals.

  • Pricing is confirmed after your consultation, based on your brow's condition and the look you're after.
